This quiz contain 35 questions about the topics/ideas/concepts discussed in this unit and will be used to measure your understanding of these topics/ideas/concepts. Questions will be taken from both the readings and video resources presented in this unit.

You can take this quiz multiple times, but you'll need to get 80% or higher before you can proceed to the next unit.   • Discuss how geologists determine numerical age by using isotopic dating;
  • Explain the basis for establishing the geologic time scale and for determining the age of Earth;
  • Describe the earliest life and how life evolution is linked to atmospheric evolution and geologic evolution;
  • Identify key stages in the evolution of life through the Phanerozoic.

  3. This quiz will be available to you for a minimum of 7 days and you can take it at any time during this availability window.
  4. However, once you start the quiz you will have only 70 minutes to complete it.
  5. The deadline to attempt this quiz will be on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 11:59 pm.
  6. Late submissions will still be accepted, but you will miss 1 point for every hour beyond the deadline. These points will be deducted from whatever grade you have, for this quiz, on the gradebook.
