Age Groups and Final Project

This is a good time to set the stage for key details of this course.

Age groups

The course and textbook are organized into age groups (infant/toddler, early childhood, and middle childhood). Within each of those age groups, the course explores three developmental domains (physical, cognitive, and social and emotional domains).

Influencer Highlights

Throughout the course you will be introduced to "Influencer Highlights". These are another lens through which we can explore child development. You'll learn that there are many factors that can influence child development in big ways. Each week we will explore one of those factors alongside the topics of developmental domains.

Hot Topics

Occasionally you will be introduced to a "Hot Topic". This is an area of child development that is currently debated or widely discussed as an issue.

Final Project and Reusing Work

Now is a good time to refresh your memory of the Final Project instructions. Remember, you can reuse work you've created throughout the course in your Digital Info Kit for Families. What this means is that you will likely take some aspects of discussion posts and assignments and rework them into one of the required elements of your final project.
